The open-source Tradr (opens in a new tab) software that runs it is still pre-1.0 (v0.11.x at launch). v1.0 comes once the API settles down.

Soul

Recently, my therapist introduced me to inner child work. She's focused on guided visualizations to identify unmet needs caused by old wounds, and to explore how the "little Matthew" component-person (living amongst all the other components of my Self) influences my thoughts and emotions day-to-day here and now. I've begun learning how to make space for my inner child to feel safe and heard. I've learned where some of my anger and combativeness has been a protective adapatation triggered by the little fella feeling threatened by sadness, loneliness, overwhelm.

Would highly recommend inner child work for anyone. I've had some deep yearnings come to light that I've been struggling to put my finger on for years.

My wife and I continue to learn how to help our children (5 and 7 years old) learn, grow, adapt, self-advocate, understand themselves, and navigate their inner & outer worlds.

I continue to learn how my ADHD brain combines with my past experiences to produce today's challenges.

Community

I serve as Vice President on the board of directors of my son's Kindergarten society (opens in a new tab), and really enjoy this work. I also lead the tech team at our church in St Albert (opens in a new tab).

Creative

I make music with keyboard, guitar, digital instruments such as VCV Rack (opens in a new tab) & all manner of instrument plugins from lifelike recreations of real-world instruments to synthetic or bizarre sound generators. I have published a small number of tracks (now a few years old) to streaming services and YouTube (opens in a new tab). I'd like to get back into putting stuff out there to the world, sometime soon hopefully.

Day Job

I trade options on the NYSE & Nasdaq using the IBKR brokerage, Monday to Friday, in my home office. I clock in to work as early as I can, but I'm not often ready for the opening bell (7:30am my time). I trade until close (2pm), review the day, and plan for tomorrow.

I use Tradr (opens in a new tab) to identify trade ideas, journal my trades, and track my performance.

Often the middle of the day is quiet with little market movement - I use that time to work on other businesses and handle other obligations.
