What is it?
Tradr is an open-source stock & options trading journal. The journalling, calculators, position tracking, and auto-fees are active and I've been using it for a few weeks now. The edges are rough in places, but I've got a vision and roadmap to improve the experience.
What you get
A free account gets you 1 brokerage account, 1,000 positions, 6 months of analytics, and 10 CSV imports a month. For one broker and a normal number of trades, that's plenty.
If you outgrow it, Hosted Pro takes the caps off for $10 a month. (That's a launch price; it goes to $15 later.)
The app does the things a spreadsheet just couldn't:
- Positions with many fills, scaled in and scaled out, with the averages and the fee-accurate realised P&L coming out right.
- A double-entry ledger underneath so the cash reconciles. Greeks and OCC symbol parsing for the options crowd.
- A sizing calculator so you know your risk before you're in the trade.
- CSV import from whatever broker you use. (this one in particular is pretty untested!)
- Multi-currency handling.

It never places an order. Nothing in it touches your broker. Someday it might be able to read some brokerages, but executing trades in the real world is not part of this product.
What's missing
The AI advisor is switched off on the hosted app. I turned it off because it simply needs more work to get it right for you and right for me. Agent observability and management is a whole can of worms.
Fetching Options quote via your own Unusual Whales API key was a casualty of the advisor removal, but next release will have that feature included again.
There's no direct broker sync yet, CSV only.
If you'd rather run it yourself
Tradr is Apache 2.0 and built to self-host. One Docker Compose file gets you the whole thing, advisor included, and nothing phones home unless you turn it on. Here's the how-to (opens in a new tab), and the source is on GitHub (opens in a new tab).
What I'm watching
This is the first product I've ever launched. I'm watching PostHog (opens in a new tab) analytics to see how many users add an account and write their first trade. I've got an in-app user feedback form in the works that'll be shipped in the next release.
